It's GO TIME!

And we have liftoff! State Senator Becca Rausch kicked off her 2020 campaign, with 100 people in attendance via zoom, and even more hoping to get in. "We had so many people trying to get in, we broke zoom!"

Attendees shared their experiences with Becca, including Wayland SelectBoard member Doug Levine who has collaborated with her trying to figure out what options exist for Wayland during the COVID pandemic. State Representative Carmine Gentile highlighted how he and Becca work in tandem to support constituents in Wayland. And Becca explained how her own family history during the Holocaust, coupled with her personal experiences in school, galvanized her into a public service career.

A phone bank followed, capped off by a smaller discussion of local matters in our district and a chance to talk directly with our state senator. The kick off was a reminder that in our unusual district, where we elected Becca as only the second Democrat in history, we can not take anything for granted. Wayland has, for the first time in decades, progressive representation in our state senate. Becca has been a fierce human rights, environmental justice, and community-centered champion for our town and our state.

NOW is the time to step up and keep her in office, fighting for you, me, and our most vulnerable residents.
